Who is Ivar?
In Norse history, Ivar was the legendary son of Ragnar Lothbrok, a warrior who famously avenged his father. But the name itself holds an even deeper meaning. In Old Norse, Ivar translates to "Bow Warrior."
The bow was the original long-range equalizer—a tool engineered for a simple purpose: “See that threat way over there? Let’s keep it way over there.”
But Ivar isn't just about the weapon; it’s about community. In ancient Scandinavia, bows were crafted from the Yew tree. The Yew tree was the literal gathering place where families and communities came together to craft the tools needed for mutual defense.

Meet the Founder and Head Instructor, Thomas Folger
With a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, 16 years in federal security, and a background as a U.S. Marine Bomb Technician attached to Force Recon, I bring unmatched real-world expertise to the range. But as a special education substitute teacher, I also bring a patient, laid-back teaching style.
I combine a lifetime of tactical knowledge with a supportive approach to take the intimidation out of shooting—creating a safe, fun environment where you can build the skills to protect what matters most.
